I will gladly install any high quality hardware you request within reason. Such upgrades include tuning machines, strap buttons or custom inlays. We have several different versions of our exclusive Beauguard™ available as well.
Pickups and electronics
I generally do not recommend putting in pickups unless you really need to plug in on a regular basis (professional gigging musician, etc.) For the average living room player, the best sound is going to be un-amplified. For recording musicians the best sound is going to be with a good condensor microphone (and in many cases on stage too). If you really need the convenience and volume that can be had with a pickup, and without endorsing any one over another, I currently offer the following:
Highlander UST transducer - Superb quality durable piezeo transducer. Requires 9 volt battery onboard, or in a battery box the cord passes through. Many professional musicians use the Highlander on account of its reliable good tone and rugged construction.
Sunrise soundhole mount pickup - Another workhorse of the professional touring musicians arsenal. Rock solid construction reliable plug and play tone. Using the matching buffer / preamp is recommended.
L.R. Baggs has several models of built in pickup systems, as well as a very good soundhole model. All their systems have their particular characteristics, so you’ll have to study their specs and then decide what you’re after.
Fishman has several models of built in pickup systems, and soundhole models. Again all their systems have their particular characteristics, so you’ll have to study their specs and then decide which one will best suit your need.
